A few scenes from our trip, while I pause to catch my breath

Hi, friends.

We are back home after an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska, and I’m giving myself some time to rest and regroup (and to heal from this bug I brought home with me!)

I plan to be back in your inbox next week with a letter about books and reading. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite photos from our trip!

^ The view from an overlook as we traveled from our VRBO in Soldotna to Seward. We stayed in Soldotna for 3 days before making our way to Whittier for our cruise.

^ On our whale-watching excursion, we saw orcas, humpback whales, fin whales, Dall’s porpoises, sea otters, Steller sea lions…and PUFFINS.

^ We traveled with six of our dearest friends. (The guy with his hands on his head was our rafting guide!)

^ On our last night on the ship, a crew member offered to take our photo while we were outside walking, and it’s my favorite of the entire trip. Jerry and I have been dreaming of traveling to Alaska together since we were dating. And to have the opportunity to go with our friends who are like family to us? A gift.
